I was invited to Al-Maeda Restaurant located in the Doubletree by Hilton at Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Al-Maeda serves Lebanese and Moroccan Cuisines.
You can enjoy eating while watching the chef preparing your food in their open kitchen.
They have several size of tables from 2 persons to big groups and as you can see in the below picture they have a round table that can accommodate 10 persons, it is the perfect table for a big family or a team lunch.
They also have a bar where you can have a drink and a nice terrace with a view on the pool and the sea where you can eat and smoke a shisha.
The staff is very friendly, they will make sure that you are enjoying your time while sitting there.
A display of egg, bread and a saj oven to bake the saj bread.
You can buy some delicious products from their display as well.
Chef Lawrence is grilling a steak and some Shish taouks.
On the left a Kiwi Virgin Mojito made of Kiwi & fresh Lemon with Mint leaves and sugar and on the right Hugo de Pina made of Cucumber, Pineapple and fresh Mint Leaves.
Both of them are so refreshing.
Freshly made bread in the oven, they have the Al-Maeda logo on them.
I enjoyed eating them so hot.
A selection of Lebanese mezze: Fattoush, Hummus, Muhammara, Moutabel, Spinach Fatayer, Cheese Rakakat, Sambusek Meat and Kibbeh and one mezze from Morocco called Zaalouk made of chargrilled eggplant with Paprika, cumin and olive oil.
They are all so tasty.
My favorite was the Muhammara although I was not a fan of it.
But after that dinner, I will be ordering Muhammara where ever I go.
Mouthwatering Oriental Lamb Chops, the best Lamb Chops I have eaten so far in the UAE.
And on the picture below the Lamb Chops, there is a dish called Daoud Basha, a traditional Lebanese dish, meat balls in a tomato sauce.
When I was younger, whenever my mom used to do Daoud Basha, I used to try to escape from eating that dish, I used to hate it.
I didn’t eat Daoud Basha since around 20 years but today when they served me the Daoud Basha, I said to myself that I have to eat it and give it a chance.
After the first bite, I said wow, it is so yummy, it is not dry, it is soft and has pine seeds in the meat.
Going forward, I will eat Daoud Basha 🙂
A picture from top showing the Daoud Basha, the rice with vermicelli and the Shish Barak.
A closer view on the Shish Barak, a signature dish of Al-Maeda.
Let me tell you that is my favorite dish. It is made of dough balls that has minced beef or lamb inside them and they are in a hot yoghurt with pine seed and olive oil.
Some people eat it with rice as well but I like to eat it without the rice.
I do it myself, mom do it, my relatives do it but I have never tasted a Shish Barak as tasty as the one Chef Lawrence have made for me.
Next time I visit Al-Maeda, I will request for a big portion for me only 🙂
It is Divine.
By now, after eating a bit of all the above and the full dish of Shish Barak, I feel so full.
They serve Moroccan tea in the traditional way with Moroccan Sweets.
And they served us some fruits and a bow of Um Ali, so succulent.
If you like to eat Lebanese and Moroccan Food, you must definitely visit Al-Maeda Restaurant.
You will enjoy the food and you will thank me for my recommendation.
