I finally did it!
I have been postponing my visit to Kamoon Restaurant since a year now as I live in Dubai and Kamoon Restaurant is in Abudhabi.
But now after trying it, I really regret that I didn’t went earlier to try it because my experience in Kamoon Restaurant was amazing!
Kamoon Restaurant is located on the ground level at the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana in Abu Dhabi.
They have appointed last month a new oriental chef, his name is Chef Mohammed and he is from Aleppo (Halab – Alep) in Syria.
I met personally Chef Mohammed last Saturday at the restaurant.
He is a very friendly chef and you can ask him to recommend you what you should it.
You can trust him blindly.
Aleppo pride itself to the best cuisine in the Middle East!
I had a quick look at the menu but in general when I have the option to let the chef choose the food for me, I would go for it.
I asked Chef Mohammed to choose what he wants me to try.
I am an avocado fan and if you are as well, then you should not miss to eat the Kamoon Salad.
It contains avocado, onion, garlic, tomato, parsley and cherry.
It was so tasty!
The Fattoush is amazing!
I tried as well the Quinoa Salad.
Red quinoa, avocado, green and red capsicum, white onion and orange juice.
It was a nice mix of ingredients with a new taste!
The tempura fried mixed vegetable were fresh and crunchy!
And let me present you the Lahm Bil Karaz, a must try dish that you should not miss when you visit Kamoon Restaurant!
You will say, what’s that!
It is grilled lamb meatballs kebab cooked with cherry sauce, served with special Arabic bread and garnished with parsley and pine nuts.
What! Cherry sauce with meat! Is that possible to mix a fruit with a grilled meat?
And yes, it is!
The Aleppians are the best in cooking in the Middle East!
They have made a mixture between fruit and meat and the result was:
A Divine Taste!
It is a dish that you will never forget!
These are the Kebab Rayhaan!
Marinated minced lamb with cheese, pistachio, red and green capsicum and basil.
It was succulent!
A must try as well!
The Kebbe Sajie is also a must try!
It is one of the traditional dished in Aleppo!
It is made of cracked wheat marinated with minced lamb and pine nuts served with yoghurt and cucumber.
The Kebab Halabi, marinated minced lamb with onion and parsley was so delicious!
And now reaching the end, it’s time for the dessert!
The homemade Knafa Nabulsiyeh is so tasty!
It is made of akawi cheese topped with flaky dough and drizzled with sugar syrup.
You have to try the food of Chef Mohammed at Kamoon Restaurant.
I am going back there soon from Dubai to Abu Dhabi because it is really worth the drive!
