Today I went for lunch at Spice and Ice located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster A next to Movenpick Hotel.
Spice and Ice is an Indian Restaurant but not a traditional Indian Restaurant.
They serve Indian Molecular Cuisine and their dishes are fusion between Indian Cuisine and Japanese, Indian and Swiss, etc…
They use nitrogen in some of their dishes, it is not only beautiful but it also makes amazing dishes!
Let me start telling you about my experience…
Once you are seated, they will bring you these crisps called papad, usually they are spicy and I can’t eat them but here at Spice and Ice, they were not and I was so happy that I will be able to eat them, it is served with 3 sauces.
To start, I ordered this mocktail called Cool Doc, it was very refreshing.
These Sweet Chili Thai Prawns are crunchy and served with sweet chili dip.
This is the Chaat Trolley, what you are seeing here is the final result.
Actually, the chef comes to your table and do it in front of you and with the nitrogen he transform the liquid yogurt into frozen yogurt.
It is an amazing show but it is also a very delicious dish.
A must try !
The comes the Swiss Fondue 🙂
Is it really Swiss? Nope, it is a Fondue yes but it is not Swiss.
It is called Pav Bhaji Fondue.
The Pav Bhaji is the fondue in the middle served with bread crouton and pan-fried potatoes.
Don’t ask me what is Pav Bhaji because I don’t know what it is, all I know is that it was very tasty!
And now the Japanese Gyoza but here it is filled with Paneer.
When they removed the cover, we couldn’t see the Gyoza because there was the smoke of the nitrogen, but then slowly slowly it started showing.
Ladies & Gentlemen, let me present you the Chili Paneer Gyoza.
An amazing presentation with an amazing taste!
And this is the last appetizer that we took.
Tandoori Mirchi Prawn, it is not very spicy but it was is with plenty of flavors!
I enjoyed it a lot…
Let’s move to the main course now.
When I saw Naan with Truffle, I couldn’t resist…
I love anything with Truffle 🙂
These are the Truffle Cheese Naan and they are divine!
We also order a regular naan not in the picture and it was so fresh!
Can you see this piece of art?
This is the Butter Chicken.
Who doesn’t know and love the butter chicken?
It was mouthwatering and I ate the flowers too as they are edible 🙂
And the Dal Makhani, it is the same taste as all Indian restaurant, nothing very special about it.
I didn’t say it is not good, actually it was very delicious but it is like the other Indian restaurants…
We are now reaching the dessert, yes we are very full but who can resist the dessert!
And because I liked the first show of the chaat trolley, I took the Nitro Rasmalai…
The chef came and did it in front of us.
It was magical!
I highly recommend to go and try Spice & Ice!
