I went last evening, Tuesday night to have dinner at Aji located at Club Vista Mare at The Palm Jumeirah.
Every Monday night is a Ladies Night, and ladies get 3 free drinks and 30% discount on food and a live band singing Peruvian songs!
One of the most popular tastes of 21st century gastronomy, the Nikkei, which is a cross pollination between Peruvian and Japanese cuisines, transforms local Peruvian dishes using Japanese flavors and techniques, resulting in its own personality and identity.
Ají brings together its take on Nikkei cuisine with flavor combinations that will intrigue your palate, with the unique marrying of ingredients, combinations, textures, and cooking techniques.
We started with the Aji Edamame.
I ate one and I liked it but after few seconds I felt its spiciness and unfortunately I cannot handle spicy, but my friend who was with me was enjoying them 🙂
Followed by the Miso Salad, you must be wondering where is the salad.
The Miso Salad is an original way of presenting a salad, yes the below is a salad.
It has baby spinach, sweet miso, garlic, ginger and quinoa and it was so delicious.
Then the cripy Ebi Tempura.
I loved the Aji Amarillo Sauce that was on the Veggie Maki.
The Aji Anticuchos is a beef skewer with anticuchera sauce and wasabi chimichurri and it was so tasty.
The below is the Veggie Anticucho composed of Artichoke, Bell Pepper and Portobello Mushrooms.
I preferred the Beef Anticucho.
The Truffled Mushroom made of shiitake, shimeji, truffle and rice was mouthwatering.
It had a heavenly taste and I wish they could share the recipe with me.
So so so yummy…
It is a must try!
The Ebbi Teppan, prawns with Japanese butter, cucumber, red onion, chili and coriander was also mouthwatering.
We enjoyed the side dish of Papas Doradas, potato and chimichurri marinade.
The Yuzu Cheesecake was very nicely presented.
A must try!
And the Chicha Morada is a cake with rice and amaranth.
It was an original cake and an original flavor for me.
As you can see in the pictures, there was also vanilla mocchi, something that I love so much.
And the surprise for me was in the chocolate mousse, it was spicy.
I wasn’t expecting like that!
