I went to Katsuya by Stark last Tuesday evening at Jumeirah Al Naseem in Madinat Jumeirah.
It was my first time to try Katsuya but I was hearing so much positive feedback about it since the past month.
They have a very nicely decorated indoor seating but they also have an amazing outdoor with the view on Burj Al Arab.
The service was perfect, our waiter was Carlos and he did a very good job.
Carlos recommended us some amazing dishes and he made sure that everything was top of the top!
The below is an Elixir Drink that doesn’t contains alcohol, it’s called the Katsuya Krush.
They also have some great alcoholic coktails, wine, beer, etc…
Katsuya by Stark is now my favorite Japanese Restaurant in Dubai!
Let me start telling you about our appetizers.
The Creamy Rock Shrimps are crispy bite-size rock shrimps tossed with a creamy spicy sauce.
Once you put it in your mouth and bite it, you can feel the delicious taste of the spicy sauce!
The Chicken Karaage is Japanese crispy chicken served with yuzu aioli and sweet ponzu.
Do you know why I ordered this dish?
Actually I was attracted by the sauces 🙂
The chicken was so tender from inside, crispy from outside and so tasty, then I dipped it in these succulent sauces and yum yum yum…
This is the best Asian Salad.
The Crispy Chicken Salad is an Asian salad mixed with rice noodles, wonton crisps and shredded chicken, served with a plum vinaigrette.
Have you ever tried a plum vinaigrette before?
I didn’t, it was the first time. A new taste that we enjoyed so much.
You have to order this salad on your next visit!
I was looking in the menu for salmon sashimi as I love a lot salmon.
While looking at the menu, I was telling Carlos, is there any salmon sashimi, he told me you should try the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno.
So I trusted him and ordered it and forgot about the salmon 🙂
It was the first time I eat a sashimi of a Yellowtail fish.
Thank you very much Carlos for this great choice, we loved it!
It was tasty, light and refreshing!
This is a zoom on the Yellowtail Sahimi with Jalapenos!
It was so good!
This is the Corn Crush Roll, sauteed shrimp and avocado rolled with crispy corn tempura, drizzled with Yakitori sauce.
If you have never eaten in Katsuya before, I am sure you haven’t tried such a roll!
I never saw before a sushi roll with corn tempura.
That was original and something out of the ordinary!
Well done Chef!
It was mouthwatering…
Ladies & Gentlemen, let me present you now a dish that fit for a king!
The Whole Stripped Baze, a striped bass served as Szechuan-style fillets.
It is Chef Katsuya’s most dynamic dish!
When Carlos was getting it to our table, the first word that we said was: WOW!
The taste of the bass was heavenly!
A must try, a must order and you will impress you guest with it!
The Miso-Marinated Black Cod is also a must try!
It has an unparalleled flavor!
I love the black cod, I tried in some other Japanese restaurants earlier this year in Dubai and I liked it a lot.
I even tried to see where I can find it to make it at home but the result was negative.
I couldn’t find it anywhere as it is sold only for fine dining restaurants!
Reaching the dessert now and so far everything was more than perfect.
We liked and enjoyed all of the appetizers and main courses!
I placed the desserts by order of preference.
The First one was Katsuya Napoleon, Kataifi filo layered with fruit and sesame cream, blueberry and peach caviar with raspberry and caramel sauce.
Crunchy, creamy, favorful, different flavors, heavenly, enjoyable, new, original: these are some of the words on how I can describe the Katsuya Napoleon.
Once you take a bite, you will feel in your mouth a fountain of various flavors, flavors out of the ordinary.
A heavenly dessert!
On number two, the Brownie Toban, warm brownie, walnut streusel, toasted marshmallow, chocolate mochi and vanilla ice cream!
You would say, all that with the brownie!
Yes and why not!
The Chef at Katsuya is very creative.
It was mouthwatering!
And the last one is the Double Chocolate Lava Cake!
It is a molten chocolate cake garnished with salted caramel and creme Anglaise served with vanilla ice cream.
The presentation was amazing, the molten cake was in a coffee glass cup!
Warm and tasty!
If you like Japanese cuisine and you want to try something out of the ordinary, you should try Katsuya by Stark.
Make sure to book in advance to avoid any disappointment!
